Outsource Otter came out of how we built our own business.

Seventeen years ago, Jake Director and Riley Goodman started a sock company as seniors in high school with $700 each. Since then, they have sold over $200 million of socks and built Strideline into the leading supplier of licensed sports socks in the world. The brand holds NFL, NCAA, and MLS licenses and sells through Costco, Sam’s Club, Nordstrom, and thousands of other doors across the world. Through disciplined cost management, Jake and Riley still own 100% of the company as 50/50 partners.

 

As Strideline grew, we needed strong people without letting payroll get out of control. More than 10 years ago, we were connected by a mentor to Puneet Seth to help us recruit overseas talent.

 

Puneet had already built serious recruiting infrastructure across India the Philippines and South America. He had real networks and long-standing relationships in those markets. That depth is what made the difference.

 

What started as a few hires became a team of over 100 Strideline professionals across multiple countries. The quality was high, the costs were rational, and the structure made sense. The massive savings in payroll (and world class, low churn talent) allowed us to retain equity AND fuel growth without compromise.

 

Over time, our founder friends and executives kept asking us to help them source talent. After years of working together — and a lot of those conversations — Puneet, Jake, and Riley decided to formalize the partnership and incorporate Outsource Otter.

We built this inside a real operating company first. Now we make the same approach available to other organizations, with straightforward pricing and a simple structure.
